Pearson

ARC manages a number of projects for Pearson. In the state of Missouri we handle the Stanford Achievement Tests, Tenth Edition (SAT 10) and the Otis-Lennon School Abilities Test, Eighth Edition (OLSAT 8). More than 300 Missouri school districts use these tests to assess achievement and ability in over 300,000 students each year. ARC also handles open-ended scoring for Pearson projects nationally through our in-house Performance Assessment Scoring Center (PASC).

ARC provides many assessment services to Pearson, including

• Marketing Pearson’s materials in the state of Missouri;
• Distributing tests to school districts in Missouri;
• Scanning, scoring, and reporting results to individuals and schools in Missouri;
• Providing client service support in administering these assessments;
• Scoring of open-ended test items Pearson distributes nationally.

Pearson expanded sales in Missouri through ARC’s long-established reputation with Missouri schools and our marketing efforts. Schools benefit by receiving quicker order processing and reporting, lower costs, and more in-depth customer support.

Riverside Publishing

ARC handles a number of projects for Riverside Publishing. In the state of Missouri ARC handles the Iowa Tests of Basic Skills (ITBS), Tests of Achievement and Proficiency (TAP), Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT), and Gates-MacGinitie Reading Tests, 4th Edition (GMRT).

ARC provides many services to Riverside Publishing, including

• Marketing Riverside Publishing’s materials in the state of Missouri;
• Distributing tests to school districts in Missouri;
• Scanning, scoring, and reporting results to individuals and schools in Missouri;
• Providing client service support in administering these assessments.

Missouri School Districts

Schools in Missouri trust ARC when it comes to their assessment needs. ARC works with school districts small and large to supply testing and scoring services, providing the same prompt, thorough customer care to all districts.

ARC assists Missouri schools by

• Distributing numerous surveys and tests;
• Scanning, scoring, and reporting results;
• Helping these clients choose the best assessment options, interpret data, and apply the results for improved performance of students, teachers, and schools.

By working with ARC, Missouri schools save money on their assessments, receive their results quickly, and receive professional advice and interpretation services.

Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (MO DESE)

ARC has worked with DESE on many projects, including the Missouri Mastery and Achievement Tests (MMAT), Authentic Science Assessment Project, collection of Federal Programs data, and development of Project Construct. Current assessments and surveys that ARC manages and coordinates for DESE include

• Missouri Kindergarten Inventory of Developmental Skills;
• Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities Survey;
• Missouri Comprehensive Student Needs Survey;
• At Risk;
• Missouri Assessment Program Alternate (MAP-A).

In general, for these and other DESE projects, ARC prints and distributes materials, collects and scores forms, and produces reports. For MAP-A, we also conduct portfolio scorer training and scoring sessions involving over 50 educators from around the state. Some of these projects involve collecting data from as many as 100,000 individuals annually.

ARC is also involved in the following components of major assessment projects for DESE:

• Missouri Assessment Program: ARC scores open-ended responses for MAP Science as a subcontractor to CTB/McGraw-Hill for the state's achievement testing program.
• Missouri End-of-Course Assessments: as a subcontractor to Riverside, ARC scores all open-ended responses for statewide accountability purposes and develops all necessary training materials for Missouri teachers and ARC's scoring staff.
• Personal Finance Assessment: ARC contracts with DESE on item and test development for this online assessment.
